In 1953 Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary become the first to summit Mt. Everest, in 1954 the first of the Bilderberg meetings is held in the Netherlands, and in 2007, 29-year-old Romy Baligula is shot dead half way through an out of tune rendition of Sinatra’s “My Way” in a San Mateo karaoke bar, bringing international attention to a string of My Way related murders and causing the song to be removed from karaoke machines across the Philippines.
