In 1911 Hiram Bingham discovers Machu Picchu, in 1917 the trial of Mata Hari begins in Paris, and in 1959 Nixon and Khrushchev have their infamous “kitchen debate” in Moscow, where the Soviet leader tries Pepsi Cola for the first time. Pepsi would become so desired in the USSR that they would latter trade three billion dollars in warships and submarines to acquire the beverage, making Pepsi the sixth largest military in the world.
